# OnPrem Root: Office AI PC

> OnPrem World · https://onpremworld.com/en/pc/root · Last updated: 2026-10-17

A private AI assistant for finance, HR, admin and legal. It reads your documents, and they never leave the office.

Roots keep things grounded: the back office, private and steady. The number is the graphics memory in GB.

## What it does for your team

- **Ask your documents:** Questions across contracts, invoices, reports and policies, answered with the source document shown.
- **Summaries of long files:** Monthly reports, long PDFs and email threads, boiled down to what matters.
- **Drafts and translations:** Emails, memos and notices in Chinese, English or Japanese, in your company’s tone.
- **Meeting minutes:** Recordings turned into minutes with action items, without uploading audio anywhere.
- **Spreadsheet help:** Formulas, pivot tables and checks explained in plain words.
- **A login for everyone:** Each person signs in, and access to files follows your departments.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does any of our data leave the office?

No. The models run on the machine itself, and it keeps working without an internet connection. We connect it to the internet only for updates, if you want them.

### Can it read the files we already have?

Yes. We connect it to your shared folders or NAS and keep each department’s files visible only to that department.

### Which size do we need?

Root 24 for up to five people, Root 32 for up to ten or for very long documents. For a whole company, ask about the Team AI workstation.

### Windows or Linux?

Either. Most offices pick Windows 11 Pro; we install and support the AI software on both.
